I’m not sure which one of these I should choose. The only thing that bothers me about the Creative ZV:M is that it’s twice as thick as the iPod. But it does play more video formats than the iPod.
Does anyone here have any experience with either of these players? I could use some help choosing…
To tell you the truth, I honestly don’t care about what color it is. I also don’t care about subscription music services, since I download from LimeWire anyways.
Also, price isn’t a problem for either of them. I’ve also asked my friends, and they’ve got me leaning more towards the iPod since it’s more accessory-friendly. I also might get an in-dash stereo system for my car which I could easily plug my iPod into. So yeah, I’m leaning more towards the iPod right now. If anyone wants to make some more arguments for the Zen, go ahead.

What do you think of the Creative Zen Micro vs. Apple iPod?
Creative is a Singapore -based Digital Entertainment company. Their newest line of mp3 players "Zen"...
I would go with the iPod any day of the week. You can download or buy video converters for the iPod. I personally do not like Mac one bit but the iPod and iTunes rock.
Creative
iPods are overpriced, and cant play certain formats, like WMA
i think u should choose the ipod. i personally have an ipod video and its really good. mine holds up to 5000 videos and 10000 songs. my friend has the creative zen vision:m and she even thinks that the ipod video is better. plus, theyre more common and its easier to get accerories for them. i would go with the ipod.
I would go with the creative zen vision:m. Creative has been around for longer than ipod and the the sound quality is a lot better. ipods are more popular, but way overpriced, definitly get the go with creative, their customer service is also really good. My brother’s ipod’s screen also is ver liable to scratches, he’s had a few problems with it, and the apple customer service wasn’t very helpful.
I would go with the Zen Vision:M
It supports popular formats like wma and divx that an ipod can’t do. You don’t have to use itunes.
Creative because it’s available in five colors, the Creative Zen Vision:M has an incredible screen, a simple interface, excellent video battery life, an FM tuner and recorder, and a voice recorder. It features a customizable Shortcut button, and it supports a wide range of online music stores and subscription services, as well as video formats. It has excellent audio and video quality. You can go to the website below and get more info if u want.
I already have a Creative Zen Microphoto, otherwise I’d rush out and get the Creative Zen Vision M.
Here’s a review that does a decent job of comparing video playback, menus, and capabilities of the Creative versus the iPod video:

An advantage of the Creative is that it is compatible with subscription music services such as Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go, Rhapsody To Go, and Napster To Go. You can fill the player with about 5000 subscription songs (192kbps) for the low low price of as little as $10 a month with a one-year prepaid subscription. @99cents a song on iTunes, that’s about $5000 which is about 41 YEARS of subscription music service. Apple and iPods won’t let you rent music which is a bummer. The great thing about subscription music is that it’s like renting your whole DVD collection forever, you never have to return the song to get a new one.
Note that Creative has also take Apple to court for violating patents on user interface for MP3 players.
If I were to pick one downside for Creative Zen Vision M today, it would be that the Vision M doesn’t currently support Audible audio books today and the iPod does.
If I were buying today, I’d go with the Creative.
i say iPod. overall to ME it’s better. the closest i have been to any creative product is my mom’s. she loves it. but i wouldn’t want one. i love my iPod mini too much. i decided between the two also. it’s a hard choice, but i’m happy with what i have.
