The most vital part of a building is it’s roof. Roof installation is very expensive and a very hard core job as compared to ther tasks. The external feature of the clay tile roof is marvelous, but we should also take care of the internal structure. Roofs can not be renovated often. Hence it should be installed properly so that it would go for at least fifteen years.

The structure of roofing should be dependable on the climatic nature and the area where you are living. With clay tile roofing you do not have to put in much effort for its maintenance as it stays for a longer period than any other types of roofing.

If there are many advantages of clay tile roofing, then there will be some drawbacks also. It is tough to install these tiles. Everyone cannot do this job, hence a professional roofer is required. This same problem has to be faced while doing it’s replacement.

The clay tile roofing requires special materials and the cost is also higher than other types of roofing. This type of roofing is only suitable for hot climates where the roof is covered with clay tiles and fights against the scorching sun and heat.

It is not really a tough task to repair the clay tile roof. But if you have some handy tools with you, you can try your hands on repairing it. The first job is to clean the fractured mortar with a cold chisel and hammer. Then replace the cap tiles in a proper manner. You have to be very careful to the synchronization of the tiles so that you can arrange them in the same order.

After this part gets over, soak the tiles in water for few hours. Then mix cement and sand in a ratio 1:3 and add enough water to prepare a stiff mixture. With the help of a trowel, the mixture is spread all over the area where there was mortar before.

Then change the tiles with a new mortar and clear up any mortar if there is any poking out with a trowel. If there is a major issue to fix, then take the help of a specialist roofer.

This type of roofing is eco-friendly and can ber easily reused.
