I have read recently that a registry cleaner was an unneeded and in fact, useless tool for computer repair and maintenance. As far as I am concerned, nothing could be farther from the truth. It is my position no PC owner should be without one.

In this article, I would like to make it clear that registry cleaners are an important tool that should be used periodically as a regular part of a computer’s upkeep. I will also make the case any corruption in the registry can hurt a computer’s speed and performance to a significant degree.

Registry Corruption is a Real Thing

The reason I know cleaning the registry is a needed process for keeping a computer running at full speed and error free is because I’ve seen it in action. Registry cleaners have helped me and my customers literally thousands of times in getting a PC out of its sick bed and back on its feet performing better than it has, sometimes for months. In other words, I know first hand what a registry cleaner will do for a computer. I have the thank you letters from satisfied customers to prove it!

If you are looking for laboratory results to judge what a registry cleaner can do, I can’t help you there. However, if you want to know if you can get by without ever using a registry cleaner, all I can say is, probably not. Sooner or later it is very likely your registry will become corrupt and the only way I know to fix it is with a registry cleaner.

Things Have Changed

Years ago you could get away without a registry cleaner. However, the newer operating systems, namely Windows XP and Vista corrupt easily, and because these OS’s are so huge, a little bit of corruption goes a long way toward deteriorating the performance of these systems.

Registry corruption will cause a computer to slow down. Sometimes this slowing down can be quite significant. Registry corruption will also cause errors and crashes. These things seem to mock the presence of spyware or viruses. Still, corruption must be dealt with when it is present.

Registry Cleaners Are a Good Thing

I’d like to know what anybody who doesn’t use registry cleaners does when they run into problems with their computer’s that are caused by registry corruption, because I’ve seen a good registry cleaner solve problems with poorly functioning computers 100’s of times!

So, when your computer starts performing poorly, the first thing to do is use a spyware and/or virus scanner. These two programs do about the same thing. If you find problems there, clean them out. If that puts your computer back on its feet, great! If not, get a free registry scan with a reputable registry cleaner.

If this scan finds little, there is nothing you can do, but if you find a lot of corruption and it is likely you will, bite the bullet and purchase the cleaner and clean the corruption out. Reputable registry cleaners come with a money back guarantees. From my experience, I usually find at this point, the computer will return to normal performance.
